Datamaxx Applied Technologies, Inc., a Tallahassee-based technology company specializing in software services for law enforcement and government sectors, reports a data breach.
The security incident was first detected on December 17, 2023, when Datamaxx experienced a network disruption. Subsequent investigation with the help of external cybersecurity experts, revealed that unauthorized access to the network occurred between December 1 and December 23, 2023.
The company has conducted a review of compromised files, notified state authorities, and initiating direct communication with affected individuals.
The investigation concluded on November 12, 2024 and confirmed that confidential consumer information was potentially accessed during this period.
The compromised data includes:
- Names,
- Social Security numbers,
- driver's license numbers,
- medical information.
The number of affected individuals is estimated at 61,000, but the nature of the attack is not disclosed.
Datamaxx is sending detailed notification letters to all affected individuals, providing specific information about what personal data was compromised in each case.
