DocGo, a healthcare provider that offers mobile health services and ambulance transportation in thirty US states and the UK, reports a cybersecurity incident that resulted in the theft of patient health data.
After detecting the incident, DocGo has shut down IT systems to prevent further unauthorized access, initiated an investigation and notified law enforcement.
The investigation revealed that the cyberattack targeted DocGo’s US-based ambulance transportation business, resulting in the theft of protected health information from a limited number of healthcare records.
The nature of the attack, the type of data stolen and the number of affected individuals is not disclosed
DocGo has begun notifying individuals whose information was compromised.
DocGo claims that the breach was contained and did not affect other business units, nor is there evidence of ongoing unauthorized access. They also believe that the incident will not materially impact their operations.
