According to claims made on Embargo's website, the pharmacy chain has already paid $1.3 million to decrypt their systems. However, the group is demanding an additional $1.3 million to prevent the publication of the stolen data, nearly double the current average ransom payment.

No details are disclosed about the breached data or number of affected individuals.

The American Associated Pharmacies has not publicly confirmed the attack, their website indicates response measures are underway, including the restoration of limited ordering capabilities for API Warehouse at APIRx.com and a mandatory reset of all passwords associated with accounts at APIRx.com and RxAAP.com.
