First Merchants Bank has revealed that it is among the victims of the MOVEit vulnerability hack. The attack was directed at a third-party, with the bank own network and systems of the bank remain unaffected.
The bank reports exposed both individual and business accounts data:
- customer names,
- addresses,
- emails,
- Social Security numbers,
- usernames,
- account information,
- other personal identifying information
Online and mobile banking passwords have not been compromised.
The bank is cooperating with the vendor to investigate the incident and reviewing existing policies and procedures regarding vendor services.
Affected customers are being notified and advised to monitor their accounts for fraud, with the bank offering a one-year fraud alert service and the option to implement a credit freeze.
