The incident to APCU's network occurred on March 23, 2023, prompting the company to secure its systems and launch an investigation with the assistance of third-party cybersecurity specialists.

The investigation revealed that unauthorized actors orchestrated the ransomware attack, granting them access to certain customers' confidential information during the limited period of unauthorized access.

Atlanta Postal Credit Union began reviewing compromised files to assess the extent of the breach and identify impacted individuals. The breached information include:
