Centennial Bank, with multiple locations in Bay County, Florida, has reported a data breach caused by unauthorized access to bank's computer network for a brief in April 2023. Although unauthorized copying of certain files occurred between April 6 and April 7.
The investigation concluded with a comprehensive review of the affected files, which was finalized on March 29, 2024.
The compromised files included a range of sensitive information:
- Names
- Social Security numbers
- Government-issued identification numbers
- Financial accounts
- Credit/debit card information
- Health insurance information
- Medical information
- Usernames, email addresses, and passwords
- Other personal information
Customer transactional systems were reportedly not impacted. It's unlcear why the investigation took more than a year to complete.
The bank has not disclosed the nature of the attack or the number of affected individuals.
