Flutter Entertainment, the parent company of major gambling brands Paddy Power and Betfair, is reporting a data breach that compromised customer data of both platforms.
The data breach was confirmed on July 8 2025. The company engaged cybersecurity specialists to investigate and identify vulnerabilities to prevent future incidents. The company claims that the unauthorized access has been eliminated. The compromised information includes:
- Usernames
- Email addresses
- Contact information including customers' names
- First lines of home addresses and cities
- Device IDs and IP addresses
- Technical data concerning customers' online activity patterns
- Details of recent account activity
Flutter has not disclosed the nature of the attack or the number of affected individuals. The company just noted that "a significant number" of players have been impacted. Flutter has notified the affected users as well as the regulators.
Update - The company is reporting that the incident has impacted 800,000 users in Ireland and Britain.
