Angel One Ltd, a prominent stock brokerage firm in India, is reporting a security incident. The breach was detected on February 27, 2025, when the company received data leakage alerts via email from its dark-web monitoring partner.

Angel One confirmed that some of the company's Amazon Web Services (AWS) resources were compromised. The brokerage firm changed all related credentials of its AWS cloud infrastructure and other applications to prevent further data leakage.

The company engaged an external forensic expert to assess the impact of the incident and conduct a root cause analysis. Angel One claims that the breach does not have any impact on clients' securities, funds and credentials and all client accounts remain secure.

The the number of affected clients and types of data that may have been exposed are not disclosed.

The data breach incident had an immediate impact on Angel One's market performance, with shares dropping as much as 4.9% during trading on February 28 and then partially recovered.

The company has made this disclosure "as a matter of good governance" and continues to investigate the incident to determine if there are any further impacts.
