The breach was discovered on November 19, 2024, when the company detected unauthorized access to its computer network. The unauthorized access occurred between November 9, 2024, and November 20, 2024.
InterCon notified law enforcement and launched an investigation with the assistance of cybersecurity experts. On December 6, 2024, the investigation confirmed that certain files containing personal information had been compromised, including:
