Kansas State University (K-State) announced on Wednesday, 17th of January 2024 that it is actively investigating issues in  several of its online platforms, which have occurred as a result of a cybersecurity attack. The affected network systems include the VPN, K-State Today emails, Canvas, and Mediasite.

The disruption extends to shared drives, printers, and university listservs. The university's IT department commenced an investigation and took steps to contain the situation by temporarily disabling th affected systems.

The university is actively working towards resolving these issues as fast as possible. They have reassured that substantial efforts are being made to restore the affected systems promptly and securely. To aid in the investigation, K-State has also enlisted the help of external IT forensic specialists.

University officials have urged the community to report any unusual activities and to adhere to robust cybersecurity practices. They stated that due to the ongoing nature of the investigation, they cannot divulge information that might jeopardize it.
