A real estate and infrastructure development company based in Kolkata, India, was hit by a ransomware attack that compromised three data servers and two computer systems. The incident was reported via law enforcement reports. The name of the company is not disclosed in public police reports.

The compromised servers contained operational data and sensitive business information needed for the company's daily functions. 

According to investigators, the systems were secured by Fortinet firewall protection and Bitdefender antivirus software. The attackers bypassed these defenses and encrypted the servers.

The types of exposed data and number of affected individuals has not been disclosed by the company or law enforcement. 

The attack has effectively halted essential business operations including project management tools, billing systems, procurement processes, and internal and external communications.

Law enforcement investigation is active, with Bidhannagar Cyber Crime Police working to identify the perpetrators and determine whether this attack is part of a broader campaign targeting real estate companies in the region or an isolated incident.
