Luigi Vanvitelli hospital impacted by ransomware

The extent of the incident and data breach is being evaluated, and a computer blackout has disrupted internet access and assistance activities at the hospital.

There are suggestions that the attackers could be Chinese hackers based on the email address provided for negotiations.

The attack mainly impacted software used in analysis laboratories, causing operations to proceed at a slow pace.

The number of affected individuals nor the method of delivery of the ransomware is not shared.

The National Cybersecurity Agency has provided experts to help assess the attack and restore affected systems, but the hospital has not disclosed information about the attackers or any ransom demand.
