Luxembourgish language learners using the LLO.lu platform, run by the national language learning institute INLL (Institut National des Langues Luxembourg), may have had their data stolen following a cyberattack targeting one of the platform’s subcontractors.
The INLL confirmed on Wednesday that the data breach might have exposed sensitive information including:
- names,
- email addresses,
- zip codes,
- details related to language learning activities on the app.
The breach occurred through a database linked to one of INLL’s subcontractors, specifically the language course company Altissia. INLL has reset passwords for services connected to personal data as a precaution.
The institute is working to secure data access and prevent future incidents but has not yet disclosed specific numbers of affected users or detailed measures being implemented.
