The Reykjavík University (HR) in Iceland fell victim to a cyber attack, believed to be orchestrated by the ransomware hacker group Akira. The incident came to light on Friday morning - 2nd of February, prompting immediate action by university employees to restore the system and recover compromised files.

Although the attack was widespread, the hackers were reportedly only able to access basic information about the student body.
