The incident involved unauthorized access was identified by the company’s cybersecurity team. The National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA) has also acknowledged the breach and initiated an investigation through its National Cyber Coordination and Command Centre (NC4).
Prior to the official announcement, FalconFeeds.io, a threat intelligence platform, reported on August 25 that a ransomware group claimed to have accessed 316GB of Prasarana’s data and intends to release it publicly.
Both Prasarana and NACSA claim that there has been no impact on the operation of the rail services, but no details are disclosed about the nature of the attack, breached data or impacted individuals.
