NationsBenefits, a technology company providing supplemental benefits for health insurance members, has reported a data breach resulting in the theft of personal information of over 3,000,000 individuals, including over 7,100 New Hampshire residents.
The breach occurred during a ransomware attack on a vendor - Fortra's systems, and hackers exploited a vulnerability in Fortra-hosted instances of GoAnywhere, impacting numerous organizations.
NationsBenefits, along with other affected companies, has criticized Fortra for its handling of the breach, including delayed disclosure and inadequate communication with customers.
