Northern Caribbean University (NCU) in Manchester, Jamaica is experiencing a significant cyberattack that has disabled critical computer systems across the institution. The attack occurred on Saturday, February 22, 2025. 

The cyberattack has severely disrupted university operations, causing key systems to be inaccessible: 

  • University records databases 
  •  student financial databases
  • Learning Management System 
  • Iniversity's website remains 

The university's email system remains operational, but students and faculty have been forced to utilize alternative platforms for educational activities. Staff members have been instructed to continue working as usual unless specifically directed otherwise by their supervisors.

The university has issued warnings to both current and former students about the potential exposure of their personal data. The nature of the attack, number of affected individuals or exposed data types are not disclosed.

The university has filed reports with multiple authorities and claims that there is currently "no indication that information about current and former students has been made public."
