Swiss vocational school BBZ Schaffhausen hit by ransomware

The Berufsbildungszentrum (BBZ) Schaffhausen - a vocational training center in Switzerland's Schaffhausen canton reports a ransomware attack that encrypted access to several of its IT systems. BBZ offers education and training across various professions and fields of study.

The school's IT specialists, along with support from the cantonal administration implemented measures to counter and contain the attack. While certain systems were temporarily inaccessible, the institution ensured that classes continued as scheduled following the fall break.

The education department of the Schaffhausen canton is currently investigating whether any personal data was compromised during the incident. No details are disclosed about any data exposed or number of affected individuals.
