The Byron Shire Council in New South Wales, Australia is reporting a data leak compromising over 10,000 internal development documents.

The leak occurred when documents were inadvertently made public on the Council's Development Application Tracker during an upgrade on April 24th 2024. The documents remained accessible for five days until a member of the public alerted the council, leading to their removal on April 29th 2024.

The breach was attributed to human error during the upgrade process.
