The Island Ambulatory Surgery Center (IASC), based in New York City, has reported a data security incident that has potentially exposed the protected health information of its patients.
The surgery center identified unusual activity within its systems on July 31, 2023 and took measures to secure its network. An investigation was initiated in collaboration with a cybersecurity firm to assess the extent and nature of the breach. The investigation concluded on February 7th, 2024, confirming that an unauthorized party had indeed accessed sensitive patient information.
The compromised data may include patient:
