Orange County District Attorney reports data breach

Hackers have successfully infiltrated the information technology system of the Orange County District Attorney's office last week, as announced by the DA's office on Monday.
The office did not specify whether any data was compromised but apparently they took "immediate action" to shut down their cybersecurity infrastructure upon discovering the breach on Friday. The investigation into the breach could take one to two weeks.
Even though OCDA claims that and at this point no ransomware or virus has been identified, the shutdown of systems is indicative of a ransomware type of attack.
In response to this breach, the OCDA also worked closely with partner agencies and law enforcement entities to mitigate potential damage.
