The Palawan Medical Mission Group Multipurpose Cooperative (PMMGPMC), which operates the Coop Hospital in Puerto Princesa City, Philippines, on Thursday confirmed that it is investigating a reported ransomware attack claimed by the cybercriminal group Qilin.
According to dark web monitoring site Deep Web Konek, Qilin published samples of allegedly stolen files on its website. The leaked data reportedly includes over 45,000 files totaling 30GB of sensitive information. Qilin has put a deadline of June 22, 2025 for releasing all files, unless ransom demands were met.
The exposed data types include:
- X-ray reports dated November 7, 2024
- Clinical chemistry results
- Skull examination records
- Thoracic examination data
- Sodium examination information
- Potassium examination results
- Additional patient medical records and diagnostic information
The number of affected individuals is not disclosed.
As a precautionary measure, all impacted systems have been isolated. The hospital reports that healthcare services continue without interruption and it is working closely with the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), and the National Privacy Commission to determine the full scope of the breach.
