Northeast Professional Caregivers, a provider of personal care and homemaking services across multiple Ohio counties, is reporting a data breach affecting both current and prospective patients.
The breach was caused by a compromise of an employee’s email account. Northeast Professional Caregivers conducted an internal investigation, supported by cybersecurity professionals, notified the Department of Health and Human Services and other relevant authorities.
They also Implemented enhanced security measures, including two-factor authentication.
The breach may have exposed personal information associated with a marketing list, including:
- Names
- Addresses
- Phone numbers
- Types of services sought
The company claims that no sensitive medical, financial, or Social Security information was compromised. The number of affected individuals is not disclosed.
