Radius Global Solutions exposes over 600,000 people through MOVEit breach

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is conducting an investigation into Radius Global Solutions following a hacking and IT incident that has impacted more than 600,000 individuals. Radius specializes in providing customer engagement and technology services for debt collection, and it falls among the numerous organizations that utilize the MOVEit web transfer application.
On June 1, Radius became aware of a security vulnerability within the MOVEit application that had been exploited by cybercriminals. The subsequent investigation unveiled that certain documents had been accessed during the breach.
The compromised information potentially includes patients' personal details such as
- names,
- dates of birth,
- Social Security numbers,
- health insurance providers,
- treatment codes,
- treatment locations,
- histories of treatment payments.
A notification issued by Radius Global Solutions on August 8 provided this information.
Radius reviewed and identified the specific accessed documents, after which they proceeded to notify all 600,794 individuals who were affected by the breach. As part of their response, those affected are being offered complimentary identity monitoring and protection services for a period of two years, aiming to mitigate potential risks stemming from this security incident.
