Andor Labs reports data breach

Andor Labs, a laboratory service provider based in Morrisville, North Carolina, is reporing a data breach following the unauthorized access to sensitive consumer information. Andor Labs is offering a broad spectrum of laboratory services, from oral and urine toxicology screening to infectious disease testing, including COVID-19, general chemistry, endocrinology, and more.

This incident came to light after an internal investigation revealed that an unauthorized entity had accessed confidential data.

Details of the breach, including nature of the attack, exposed data and number of affected individuals are not disclosed. Still, the fact that Andor Labs has reported the incident to Health and Human Services' Office for Civil Rights indicates impact to personal data of over 500 individuals. Formal reporting to HHS is required if a data breach is affecting the PHI of more than 500 individuals.

Andor Labs is informing the  impacted individuals through notification letters, which detail the specific data compromised during this breach.
