The Washington Times, a major U.S. conservative newspaper, has reportedly been compromised by the Rhysida ransomware group, according to Cybernews.

Rhysida claims to have stolen exclusive data from the newspaper and is auctioning it for over $304,000 worth of Bitcoin. The auction is scheduled to begin in a week, with Rhysida stating that the data will be sold to a single buyer, emphasizing no reselling and exclusive ownership.

No details have been disclosed about the nature of the attack, the specific data exposed and the number of affected individuals.

This incident follows closely after Ohio's City of Columbus had its data exposed by Rhysida due to its refusal to pay the ransom.
