Russian delivery company CDEK has it's systems down due to cyberattack

CDEK, a major Russian delivery company, has been hit by a severe disruption due to a cyberattack claimed by a hacker group Head Mare.

The attack rendered CDEK’s services inoperative for three days and involved the encryption of the company's servers with ransomware and the destruction of backup copies of its corporate systems. Despite CDEK's initial attribution of the disruption to a "massive technical failure," it was later revealed by an anonymous company source and confirmed by the head of the Russian State Duma committee on information policy that a cyberattack was indeed the cause.

The hackers claimed responsibility for the breach on Twitter. CDEK has since been working towards restoring full operations, with plans to resume services no later than May 29, 2024. The company has reassured customers that their parcels are safe and efforts are underway to ensure prompt delivery.
