Snatch ransomware gang glaims attack on Tyson Foods

Learn More

The Snatch ransomware group has recently targeted Tyson Foods and started leaking the stolen personal details of the company's high-ranking executives. Tyson Food is a leading processor of chicken, beef, and pork and a key supplier to prominent fast-food chains like KFC, Taco Bell, McDonald’s, Burger King, and Wendy’s. The initial breach occurred in November. The release of this sensitive information in December suggests a breakdown in negotiations between the hackers and the American multinational company.

The Snatch group's Telegram channel displayed a message stating, "We continue publishing private information about people that influence millions of people. Welcome Tyson Foods top management and their personal history." The hackers assert that they carried out a preliminary cyberattack on Tyson Foods in November 2023.

This exposed information encompasses:

  • names,
  • personal and business email addresses,
  • passwords,
  • contact numbers,
  • home addresses.

It's unclear how many individuals are impacted by this breach, nor what other data was stolen.

The true intentions behind the claim of the cyberattack on Tyson Foods, remain uncertain until the company issues an official statement. The potential impact of such an attack could be significant, given the company's critical role in the meat industry.
