Prudential Financial is reporting a cybersecurity incident that led to unauthorized access to its network. The breach was detected on February 5 after attackers gained entry a day earlier, compromised data related to the company's employees and contractors.

Per information from Prudential, while the investigation is ongoing to determine the full scope and impact, there's currently no evidence to suggest that customer or client data was compromised.

No details are disclosed about the nature of the attack, compromised systems and data.

The company reassured that the incident has not materially impacted its operations or financial conditions.

Update - Prudential has reported a data breach caused by the cybersecurity Incident through an 8-K form filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, indicating that an unauthorized cybercrime group accessed administrative and user data from specific IT systems, including a small percentage of user accounts belonging to employees and contractors. While Prudential has engaged law enforcement and regulatory bodies and is conducting a comprehensive investigation to ascertain the full scope and impact of the breach, there's currently no indication that customer or client data was compromised.

On 16th of February 2024 the ALPHV/Blackcat ransomware gang claimed responsibility for the attack.

On 30th of March Prudential reported that hackers stole the sensitive information of more than 36,000 during a February incident.

As of 30th of June 2024, Prudential Financial reports that the data breach has compromised the personal information of 2,556,210 people.
