Snow Brand Australia, the Australian subsidiary of the Japanese dairy company, is reporting a ransomware attack claimed by the SafePay ransomware operation.
The incident was discovered when unusual network activity was detected, prompting immediate security measures and an investigation. Snow Brand Australia has also notified relevant authorities, including the Australian Cyber Security Centre and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
The attack resulted in the exfiltration and publication of company data on SafePay's darknet leak site. The leaked data is approximately 24 gigabytes, including:
- Financial records:
- Invoices
- Purchase orders
- Business details with retail partners (including Romeo's Retail Group)
- Employee information:
- Medical certificates
- Superannuation details
- Medicare applications
The number of affected individuals is not disclosed.
Snow Brand Australia claims that their systems are secure and the company remains fully operational.
