SSM Health reports third party data breach, potential patient data exposure

Patients at SSM Health and SSM Health Bone and Joint Hospital in Oklahoma City might have had their data compromised in a breach affecting Navvis, a business associate of SSM Health.

SSM Health is a Catholic, not-for-profit healthcare system operating in the United States. It is one of the largest integrated health systems in the country.

Navvis, which encountered suspicious network activity from July 12 to July 25, 2023, identified a breach that potentially exposed patient data.

SSM Health, in a statement, acknowledged the incident at Navvis, which offers health management services to SSM, and is extending free credit monitoring and identity protection services to the affected patients. No details are disclosed about the numnber of potentially exposed individuals.
