St Vincent's Health emphasized that the cyber attack had no operational impact on their healthcare facilities, including public and private hospitals, 20 aged care centers, and virtual in-home care services.
The response to the breach involved immediate containment measures, which were executed day and night, and the engagement of external cybersecurity experts who were already on retainer.
Despite the rapid response, the details of the stolen data, including whether it comprised sensitive personal information, remain unknown. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact nature of the stolen data and identify the hackers responsible for the attack.
