Mortgage Investors Group (MIG), a lender based in Tennessee, is reporting a cybersecurity incident. The attack, which began on December 11 and was discovered on December 12, compromised their network infrastructure and resulted in unauthorized access to sensitive customer information. MIG serves approximately 300,000 customers and operates more than 26 branches.
The incident has been claimed by the Black Basta ransomware group. MIG has not confirmed whether this was specifically a ransomware attack, despite Black Basta's claims. MIG has stated they will directly notify affected individuals once their investigation is complete, which is expected to take several weeks.
