The Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering reports ransomware attack

The Fraunhofer Institute for Industrial Engineering (IAO) is reporting a ransomware attack that appears to be localized to one division within the broader Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft organization.

Fraunhofer has implemented immediate precautionary measures to limit further damage, engaged IT security experts for incident analysis, notified the Bavarian Data Protection Authority and is collaborating with investigating authorities and law enforcement. The institution has sent notification to affected partners
