Tilbury District Family Health Team reports third party data breach

The Tilbury District Family Health Team (TDFHT) reported that the cyberattack on TransForm Shared Service Organization, which took place in October, 2023, also impacted their patient health records. TransForm Shared Service Organization, is responsible for managing the technological infrastructure of all the five affected hospitals and the TDFHT.
This incident was part of a broader attack that compromised various degrees of patient and staff information at several healthcare facilities, including Bluewater Health, the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance (CKHA), Erie Shores HealthCare, Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare, and Windsor Regional Hospital.
In correspondence with the patients and clients who were affected, TDFHT clarified that their electronic medical record system remained secure and was not breached. However, they acknowledged that data stored on a shared drive was indeed accessed and stolen in the breach.
TDFHT has not disclosed the number of affected individuals.
