UKG Inc., an HR and workforce management technology company, reported a data breach involving inadvertent unauthorized sharing of consumer information. UKG Inc. is an American multinational technology company specializing in workforce management and human resource management services. The company, with dual headquarters in Lowell, Massachusetts, and Weston, Florida, was established in April 2020 following the merger of Ultimate Software and Kronos Incorporated
The breach, discovered on October 30, 2023, led to the exposure of sensitive data like Social Security numbers, salary details, and financial account information of certain individuals. The affected data was inadvertently shared with other customers while providing payroll services to employers, including New York City Health + Hospitals.
UKG Inc. has not disclosed the number of affected individuals.
Following the investigation, UKG began issuing breach notification letters and offering 24 months of free credit monitoring through Identity Defense Complete to the impacted individuals.
