The breach involved a software product MOVEit, used globally for data file transfers, leading to the unauthorized access of certain electronic records related to payments made between December 2022 and May 2023.
While the breach did not compromise bank account passwords, it exposed sensitive data such as:
- names,
- addresses,
- dates of birth,
- phone numbers,
- Social Security numbers,
- driver's license numbers,
- payment account numbers,
- health insurance identifiers,

United Bank promptly took measures to mitigate the incident's impact, including suspending the MOVEit server, applying recommended remediation steps, and collaborating with external security experts for investigation.
To ensure affected individuals' privacy, United Bank is providing one year of Equifax credit monitoring at no charge.
