Verizon has confirmed that customer information was not affected by this breach. The internal review of the incident continues, and the incident has not been referred to law enforcement due to the absence of malicious intent or evidence of external sharing of the information.
Verizon is taking proactive steps to bolster its internal security measures to thwart similar occurrences in the future. The company has reported no evidence of malicious use of the exposed data or indications that it has been disseminated outside of Verizon. Measures are being implemented to enhance technical controls and prevent future breaches, and the incident has been reported to applicable regulators.
