WD & Associates reports data breach

WD & Associates, a division of Patriot Growth Insurance Services, LLC, is reporting a cybersecurity incident that may impact the privacy of certain information.

WD detected suspicious activity involving certain workstations and servers within its network. Measures were taken to secure the network, and an investigation was launched to determine the nature and scope of the activity. The investigation revealed that files on WD’s network were accessed or taken by an unauthorized party between February 1, 2023, and February 9, 2023.

While the investigation is ongoing, preliminary findings as of March 1, 2024, identified that certain files contained the following information for specific individuals:

• Name
• Date of birth
• Social Security number
• Health insurance information
• Financial account information
• Medical information
• Driver’s license number
• Passport number

No details are disclosed about the number of affected individuals or the nature of the attack.

Currently, WD claims there is no evidence indicating that the involved information has been misused. WD is notifying individuals out of an abundance of caution.
