Albyn Housing Society, a charitable organization based in the Scottish Highlands, was the victim of a cyberattack on August 17, 2024, by the hacking group RansomHub.

Albyn Housing Society, founded in 1973 to build homes for workers at the Invergordon smelter, now manages over 3,800 properties across 70 communities in the Scottish Highlands.

The attackers illegally accessed and published approximately 10GB of sensitive personal data belonging to tenants and staff on the dark web.

Kirsty Morrison, the Chief Executive of Albyn Housing Society, confirmed the cyberattack and emphasized the organization's efforts to minimize the impact, working closely with relevant agencies and stakeholders.

No details are disclosed about the exposed data and the number of affected individuals.
