Alpha Omega Winery, a boutique winery in Rutherford, California, is reporting a ransomware incident that compromised sensitive customer and employee information nearly two years ago.
ounded in 2006 and headquartered in California's Napa Valley, Alpha Omega produces wines from its own vineyards and organizes tasting rooms and winery events at its estate.
The incident occurred between December 27 and December 28, 2023. A third-party forensic investigation confirmed that the incident occurred during this two-day period. The compromised data includes:
- Name
- Date of birth
- Social Security number
- Driver's license/State ID number
- Passport number
- Other government identification numbers
- Health insurance policy number
- Medical information
The number of affected individuals has not been disclosed.
The winery notified those affected on November 6, 2025. It's not clear why the winery waited 2 years to report this incident. Alpha Omega Winery has arranged for affected individuals to receive 24 months of complimentary credit monitoring and identity restoration services.
