ALPHV/Blackcat ransomware gang claims attack on Techica Corp and stolen FBI documents

The ransomware group Blackcat, also known as ALPHV, has made a public threat to release sensitive documents from U.S. intelligence agencies, including the FBI, following their claimed breach of Technica Corporation. Technica is a company that specializes in providing high-end system engineering services primarily to Defense, Intelligence, Law Enforcement, and Federal civilian agencies.

ALPHV alleges that it has stolen approximately 300GB of data, including classified and top secret documents pertaining to various U.S. intelligence agencies. ALPHV warned that unless Technica makes contact with them, they will either sell or publicly release the data. This post included a sample of the stolen data including:

  • Department of Defense contracts
  • Technica employee names,
  • Technica employee phone numbers,
  • Technica employee  Social Security numbers.

Technica has not commented on the claims but if real has the potential for extreme severity depending on content of stolen data. As of now, the FBI has not provided any statements regarding the alleged breach.
