Learn More
Australian not-for-profit ANU Enterprise (ANUE), a subsidiary of the Australian National University (ANU), reports a ransomware attack on its systems. Only ANUE’s IT systems were impacted; ANU’s internal systems remain unaffected due to separation from ANUE’s infrastructure.
ANUE promptly notified the Australian Cyber Security Centre and collaborated with ANU’s Information Security team to restore impacted systems and files.
No details are disclosed by ANUE regarding exposed data or number of impacted individuals.
The attack is claimed by the ThreeAM ransomware gang and caused the encryption and exfiltration of files stored on ANUE’s IT systems. While the gang listed ANUE on its dark web leak site, it has not published any data or provided further details.
ANUE has notified individuals affected by the breach and has confirmed that no ransom was paid.
