Methodist Family Health (MFH), based in Little Rock, Arkansas, announced on Monday that there was a data breach on March 4, resulting in unauthorized access to patient health information. Documents containing protected health information were accessed and copied without authorization.
MFH is an organization dedicated to providing care for abandoned, abused, neglected, and troubled Arkansas children facing psychiatric, behavioral, emotional, and spiritual challenges. The breached information included full names, dates of birth, dates of admission or treatment, home addresses, account numbers, diagnoses, service charges, and medication details.
Upon detection of the breach on March 6, immediate action was taken to terminate unauthorized access and enhance privacy and data security measures. MFH is currently in the process of notifying individuals whose information may have been affected by the breach. At present, there is no evidence to suggest that the accessed information has been or will be misused.
