ARx Patient Solutions has reported a data breach after detecting unauthorized access to an employee's Microsoft 365 email account.
ARx disabled the affected email account, contained the situation, and enlisted the help of outside cybersecurity experts to investigate the incident.
The ARx investigation confirmed the unauthorized access, as well as the fact that certain files that were accessible to the unauthorized party contained confidential consumer information.
The unauthorized access compromised sensitive consumer information including:
- names,
- Social Security Numbers,
- medical information,
- health insurance information,
It's estimated that 41,116 individuals have been affected by this breach.
ARx Patient Solutions is sending out data breach notification letters to affected individuals.
