Baruch College has announced an extension of remote learning until September 27 due to a campus-wide malware issue, with efforts underway to resolve the network outage.

The College emphasized the need for students to continue attending classes remotely while progress is made in addressing the situation. During a meeting with faculty, it was confirmed that the campus-wide outages were indeed a result of a malware attack, although not a ransomware attack specifically.

The email communication system at Baruch experiences disruptions, making it challenging for professors and faculty to send communications. Baruch advised students to monitor their Blackboard account and email for updates, and mentiones that various resources and departments would remain virtual for the time being.

The Student Health Center and counseling services would continue to operate virtually, and further decisions regarding remote learning were yet to be announced beyond September 27.
