Benefit Management, LLC (BML) informed the public about a data breach that occurred recently. The breach involved unauthorized access to confidential patient information that was under BML's care. No details are provided as to the number of impacted individuals.
Suspicious activity was detected in an employee's email account on April 1, 2023. The investigation revealed that an unauthorized individual had accessed certain BML email accounts between March 14, 2022, and April 2, 2022.
It was also discovered that some of the compromised emails and attachments contained confidential information related to BML customers' patients. Upon realizing that sensitive consumer data had been exposed to an unauthorized party, Benefit Management conducted a thorough review of the affected files.
