Petaluma Health Center reported Data Breach

Petaluma Health Center ("PHC") reported a data breach during which an unauthorized party gained access to confidential information stored on the company's computer network, which included data belonging to employees, board members, and volunteers. The compromised information consisted of consumers' first names, last names, addresses, Social Security numbers, driver's license numbers, passport numbers, dates of birth, and health insurance plan details. Petaluma Health Center promptly began notifying all affected individuals about the breach after confirming the leakage of consumer data. PHC detected suspicious activity within its computer network on March 14, 2023. In response, the company shut down all network access and engaged data security experts to investigate the incident. The investigation confirmed the presence of an unauthorized party who had successfully accessed the company's network. Certain files were found to contain sensitive information of specific employees and other individuals who had provided their data to PHC. Data breach letters were sent to all individuals whose information was compromised in the recent security incident by Petaluma Health Center on April 24, 2023.
