The Berglund Management Group Inc., a car dealership based in Roanoke, Virginia, on 22nd of November disclosed a significant data breach impacting over 50,000 individuals. The dealership operates across multiple locations and is known for offering a variety of car brands.

Tthe company discovered unauthorized access to a part of its computer network, with the breach initially detected on October 26 but later found to have occurred much earlier, on May 10.

The details of the attack are not disclosed.

The breach has affected approximately 51,514 people. During the breach sensitive customer information, including names and social security numbers, was potentially accessed by hackers. Despite the severity of the breach, Berglund Management Group Inc. has indicated that there is currently no evidence of the misused information.

In response to this incident, Berglund Management Group issued written notices to those who might have been impacted by the breach. Additionally, the company is providing free access to services including Single Bureau Credit Monitoring, Single Bureau Credit Report, and Single Bureau Credit Score. These services offer enrollees alerts for several months regarding any changes made to their credit, enhancing their ability to respond promptly to potential fraud or identity theft.
