Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists LLC (BOS) reported a data breach incident involving an unauthorized party gaining access to BOS' IT network and acquiring specific information.
The incident came to light on March 5, 2023, when BOS became aware of a cyberattack targeting their systems. In response, BOS secured its network and initiated an investigation to determine the extent of consumer data that may have been compromised.
The investigation revealed that unauthorized access to certain computer systems occurred between February 3, 2023, and March 5, 2023. On March 4, 2023, the unauthorized party managed to extract some of this data. The review process was completed on July 31, 2023.
The compromised data includes details such as individuals'

- Social Security numbers,
- medical records,
- health insurance information,
- login credentials (usernames and passwords),
- financial account information,
- driver's license numbers.
It's possible that as many as 240,000 individuals are impacted by this data breach.
On September 1, 2023, Bienville Orthopaedic Specialists began the process of notifying individuals who had been impacted by the data security incident. These notification letters are expected to provide affected individuals with a detailed list of the specific information that may have been compromised in their case.
